After winning Best Actress at the Golden Rooster Awards, Teresa Li took to social media to express her gratitude for the recognition.
On 17 November, the actress, who won for her performance in “Viva La Vida”, posted several photos of her with her Golden Rooster trophy and wrote, “I cherish the time when I became Ling Min, and this trophy belongs to Ling Min. I am lucky to receive this honour for Ling Min, and she also helped me realise my childhood dream.”
Ling Min in this case is the character she played in the movie.
Thanking director Han Yan, her co-star Peng Yuchang, and the rest of the team, she expressed, “Because of your efforts, the story of Lu Tu and Ling Min were finally presented. Thank you to the organising committee for giving me this honour and encouragement, and thank you to the audience for their support. Actor Li Gengxi will continue to work hard to play every role well.”
Teresa became the youngest actress to win the said award at 24, besting contenders such as Zhang Zifeng, Ma Li, and veteran actress Ge Zhaomei.
In the drama, Teresa plays a young woman who decides to marry someone who will be able to donate a kidney to her, which led her to meeting a young man who has a brain disease.
