Following the previous delay, it was revealed that the second part of the planned trilogy of “Creation of the Gods”, “Demonic Confrontation”, will be released next year.
The news was shared by director Wu Ershan on social media, writing, “On the first day of the Lunar New Year, let’s all be gods together.”
This means that the film will be released on 29 January 2025 or around that date.
The first part of the trilogy, “Kingdom of Storms” was released in cinemas in July 2023, earning RMB 2.6 billion at the box office. While the sequel was scheduled for 2024, Wu announced in the middle of this year that they have decided to postpone the release.
As for the reason for doing so, the filmmaker said that they needed more time for postproduction work due to the huge number of special effects required for the film.
Meanwhile, there is no news as to when the third film, “Creation Under Heaven” will be released.
