Chinese singer Gong Linna recently announced that she and husband of 20 years, Robert Zollitsch have called it quits on their marriage.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the 49-year-old singer shared the news on 13 October with a video of her singing while Zollitsch played the guzheng.
She posted, “The music begins and ends. The song “Free Bird” written by us 20 years ago was sung again at the place where it was first performed 20 years ago…”
“The marriage was brought together by music, which started in China and ended in Germany. Invite friends, pour your heart out, be grateful for the good times together, and thank those who have helped us,” she added.
Netizens who saw the post were full of praises for Gong and her husband, with one saying, “This is the first time I’ve seen a divorce so romantic. She is worthy of being called an artist.”
Gong met and fell in love with German composer Robert Zollitsch in Beijing in 2002 and they tied the knot two years later. The two have two sons together.
