Now that he has become a father, Benjamin Yuen admitted that he has decided to take a more casual approach towards his acting work rather than filming one drama after another intensively like in the past.
The actor, who sat down in an interview recently, stated that he has changed a lot of his old views about work, which was ingrained into him since he made his debut with TVB.
“I used to shoot three dramas a year. But now it has slowed down. I only shoot one drama every six months and after wrap up, I can rest for six to eight months. It is not as intensive as before,” he said.
Ben added that rather than doing a lot of projects, he just pursues “effectiveness”.
As to what he does during his break, the actor said that he enjoys spending time with his son Yau Hei.
“I spend most of my time being the driver. Taking the baby to the paediatrician for checkups and sending him to preschool. Time flies by really fast,” he said.
“Actually, filming requires inspiration from life, and you need more experience to refresh yourself. I need to move forward to find myself, and taking a break to be a father and look after my wife and son is another kind of rhythm in life. I can use this life experience to prepare for the next role,” he added.
