While she has never missed mourning the loss of her best friend, actor Qiao Renliang (aka Kimi Qiao), Joe Chen was unable to visit his place of rest this year due to her wedding preparations.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the parents of the late actor recently revealed that the actress has sent a bouquet of flowers on the anniversary of Qiao’s passing, seeing that she is not in Taiwan currently to do so herself.
The bouquet also came with a card, which read, “Dear Kimi, I’m very sorry that I can’t come to see you this time because I have to have a wedding. You will definitely bless me. We are all fine and miss you. I will come to see you next year.”
At the same time, Joe still posted a picture of a pink sky on her Weibo, a yearly tradition she created on the day of Qiao’s passing as a way to remember the actor.
It was previously reported that Joe is set to hold her wedding with husband Alan Chen at the end of September. The event will be held in Langkawi, the location that is meaningful to them as a couple as it was where they decided to be together.
Qiao passed away on 16 September 2016 after he was found dead in his apartment in Shanghai. The police ruled it as suicide caused by depression. He was 28.
