Want to cuddle with a skunk? (That’s not something you hear every day.) Or
maybe a wallaby? Or something more mainstream like cats and dogs. Whatever it
is, these cafés got you covered.

Malaysians who adores cute fur babies have plenty of pet cafés to
choose from, to the point that it might even be a headache to choose where to
go. Well, we’re here to lend a helping paw. Wherever you are in Malaysia, there
is most likely a pet café nearby for you to visit. Below we pick five from
across the nation that might be the ‘purrfect’ place for you.

If you don’t see certain cafés listed below, we’ve probably mentioned them in our previous list.

Fluffy Time (Johor Bahru)

Circling back to those skunk and wallaby questions, do you want to cuddle with
them? Because you can! We’re not sure how cuddly the wallaby will be, but
we’ve seen a few pics of the skunk snuggling cosily with human companions.
Aww…

Fluffy Time is touted as the first animal café in Johor Bahru. Opened in
August last year, the café’s barely a year old but it houses such a wide
variety of animals that it often has flocks of customers. Aside from the usual
cuties like cats, dogs and bunnies, it also has more exotic ones like the two
abovementioned ones, raccoon, and sugar glider.

Despite being fairly new, having just been launched a few months back in
January, De Ralph Mansion is already the place to be for doggo lovers. What
makes it stand out is – aside from its Dog Tsunami experience (basically an
avalanche of dogs on you) – it houses quite a number of dog breeds rarely seen
in Malaysian pet cafés, such as the Alaskan Malamute, the Bernese Mountain
Dog, the Old English Sheepdog and the Great Pyrenees.

You can either play with these cuties or bring your own fur babies and let
them roam the café freely while you enjoy the scrumptious meals there.

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur. Sorry, despite the name, there’s
no panda here. But there are plenty of cute kitties! And they aren’t the only
little balls of fur here, this café also has adorable bunnies!

What’s more, this isn’t just a cat (and bunny) café as it also offers other
services like pet hotel, pet taxi, pet sitting and petting zoo. If you find
yourself falling in love with them so much that you want a kitty or bunny of
your own, this café also sells baby ones for you to bring home. Bear in mind
that this is subject to availability.

Husky Garden Cafe (Bintulu)

Husky café isn’t really a thing in Sarawak, until Husky Garden Café opened in
Bintulu. What makes it special is the amount of food offered on the menu is as
abundant as the huskies roaming the café. From Asian (Thai Mango Crispy
Chicken Salad) to Western (Grilled Pork Chop), sweet to savoury, the menu has
it all.

You can bring your own fur baby here to play with the café’s dogs, but your
dog must wear a diaper before entering. One of this café’s highlights is no
doubt Lala. We can’t vouch that Lala still sits there obediently to this day,
but this good doggo used to sit by the entrance to welcome visitors. Right
next to the fluffy husky is a very informative sign that states, “My name is
Lala. I don’t bite people, I’m really not fierce. You can pet me and play with
me. I’ve eaten, I’m not hungry, please don’t feed me.”

Pet Paradise, founded in 2015, is a pet store in Sabah with branches in
Kolombong, Putatan and Kingfisher Sulaman. It is the first pet store in the
state to introduce the cat studio concept café back in August 2016. Called Cat
Studio & Café, it is located at the main branch Pet Paradise Kolombong,
BSA.

Unfortunately, it’s currently under renovations but you can keep track of the
re-opening date on Pet Paradise’s Facebook. Prior to its temporary closure,
visitors to the café could play with the many breed of cats available, such as
the Exotic Shorthair & Longhair, British Shorthair, Scottish Fold,
Munchkin, Persian, Maine Coon and Sphynx. In the meantime, you can always go
and play with the cats at Pet Paradise Kingfisher Sulaman.
