British singer Adele recently surprised fans by announcing that she will take a long hiatus following her Las Vegas residency.
The “Hello” singer shared the news with the audience at her Munich concert as seen in a video footage from the show, telling them, “I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it. I want to live the new life that I have been building.”
She then added that she may not be performing on stage again for “an incredibly long time”.
It is noted that Adele told audiences at her concert in Germany early last month that she is engaged to sports executive Rich Paul.
Adele is no stranger to long breaks. The singer took six years to release her most recent album “30” following the success of “25” in 2015. She also had gone four years without a new album since 2011’s album “21”.
Adele will be performing the 10 remaining shows of her Weekend with Adele at the Caesars Palace, Las Vegas from 25 October to 23 November.
