The upcoming live-action adaptation of the Japanese animated series, “Cells at Work!” has announced four more cast members, including Koji Yamamoto, who will play the role of Killer T Cell.
The actor, who spoke about the role he was cast in in the movie, said that he felt like he is playing a “warrior” rather than just a killer T cell.
“The relationships between the cells are interesting. NK cells act alone, Killer T cells can’t move without orders, white blood cells and red blood cells each have their roles… It’s fascinating. My character is quite physical, which I appreciate as I enjoy training. If I were cast as a white blood cell, I’d have to slim down more,” he said, lightheartedly.
As for working with director Hideki Takeuchi again, he said, “It’s been a while since we worked together, but his clear direction was very reassuring. It’s an honour to be part of such a distinguished cast. I’m excited to see the final product!”
Koji is joining the likes of Mei Nagano and Takeru Sato, who will play the Red Blood Cell and White Blood Cell, respectively.
Other cast members include Riisa Naka as NK Cell, Wakana Matsumoto as Macrophage, and child model Maika Pugh as Platelet.
