Japanese voice actor (seiyu) Noriko Ohara has recently passed away.
News of Ohara’s passing was confirmed by her talent agency 81 Produce, saying that she actually passed away on 12 July after an ineffective treatment for an illness.
A funeral has already been held with only close relatives present, as accordance to the family’s wishes.
Most known for her iconic role as Nobita in “Doraemon”, Ohara had also voiced characters like Conan in “Future Boy Conan”, Oyuki in “Urusei Yatsura”, and Doronjo in “Yatterman”.
She also dubbed several western films and cartoons in Japanese such as the role of Valerie Brown in “Josie and the Pussycats”.
In 2007, she won the Lifetime Achievement Award during the inaugural Seiyu Awards.
She was 88.
