Sammi Cheng surprised many recently by inviting her husband Andy Hui as one of the guest performers at her recent concert.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who successfully completed the first of her 13 “You & Mi World Tour Concert” shows in Hong Kong, wowed audiences with the many special effects presented and costumes worn during the concert, but not as much as when she unveiled the biggest surprise of the night.
The singer, who hasn’t appeared with Andy since the previous extramarital scandal that the latter faced but remained supportive of her husband, started by saying that the world seemed to be in turmoil and called for everyone to cherish and live in the present.
“It’s such a cliché, but I always feel that no matter if it’s people or things, the most important word is to cherish them.”
She then started singing Andy’s song “Fireworks at the End of the Century” accompanied by a pianist who was playing in the dark.
However, as the lights turned on at the piano, the audience realised that it was Andy who was playing. The singer then stood up and sang with his wife, to the screams of excitement from the audience. Even though they were half a stage apart, the audience were still able to feel how intimate they are as a couple.
Andy and his piano were then lowered down the stage without saying a word. Before leaving, he and Sammi looked at each other with sweet smiles and nodded to encourage each other. Sammi then sang another solo song, “Exchanging Tenderness” to express her love to her husband.
