Fans were horrified as Kitty Zhang (Zhang Yuqi) revealed the injury to her toenail she sustained due to the wrong shoe choice.
The whole issue sparked after a photo of her reading a script while sitting on a wheelchair with a bandaged foot circulated online, causing fans to worry about her health.
On 8 July, the actress explained the situation by posting several photos on Weibo of her injured right toe, which had the nail dislodged from her toe.
“Actually, it’s nothing. I just pulled out a nail. Don’t worry, friends!” she posted.
However, at the same time, Kitty reminded fans to be careful when wearing open-toed shoes in summer.
It was reported that Kitty fell down while wearing the heels, causing her entire toenail to be dislodged. The bleeding had the actress rushed to the hospital to get it removed and bandaged.
