Liza Wang has recently been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 18th Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) Awards.
The actress, who was accompanied by husband Law Kar Ying, accepted the award from the Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration of Hong Kong Warner Cheuk, and expressed, “It took me 57 years to work on my own passion and get recognised today. I am very grateful.”
Stating that all the past recipients of this Lifetime Achievement Award are masters and seniors whom she respected very much, Liza said that she would not dare say that she can match their achievements.
“But I will continue to work hard in the future, take every performance seriously, create more opportunities for the industry and the new generation of cultural and artistic workers, and shoulder the mission of creating a legacy,” she added.
In an interview afterwards, Liza said that this year marks the 57th year of her in the entertainment business and that the award meant a lot to her. However, Liza said that there will be no special celebration as she and Law will be preparing for their upcoming Cantonese opera show.
