NCT member Renjun recently opened up about his struggle with panic disorder and depression, and expressed frustration over stalking fans who continuously harass him during his break.
In a long statement released on social media, the Chinese singer stated that he earlier decided to take a break from performing to heal himself physically and mentally, and went to the amusement park to do things that he had never done before.
“But I saw a message like this: “How can you go out to play when you are so seriously ill?” Seeing this sentence really makes me speechless, it is really disheartening. Do sick people have to take medicine every day in depression and stay in the ward crying all the time? My goal is of course to do my best to get better quickly and perform. In order to achieve this goal quickly, I go for a walk and do what I want to do. This is the right way to heal.”
Renjun then stated that even his private moments were encroached by stalker fans, who followed him everywhere he went and took pictures of him when he was asleep on his flight.
“I don’t know how these people know my flight information. The particularly scary person sits in the seat next to me and says dignifiedly, “No, I didn’t follow you.” I am really under a lot of pressure. There are many ways to love and like. There is no need to choose such an extreme way…” he added.
The singer stated that he has decided to take legal action against these stalking fans, adding, “If it infringes on my personal life besides my identity as an artist, I will not continue to sit and wait for death. Even if I will be hurt, I will do everything I can to make these people punished. Our company has also prepared countermeasures, so let us only leave good memories.”
