It looks like AKB48’s first ever Malaysian sister group KLP48 will be getting a mentor from the original team.

It was revealed that Jurina Matsui, the former member of AKB48 and SKE49 will be working with KLP48 as a player manager.

Since the formation of AKB48 and throughout the entire 19-year history of the AKB group, Jurina Matsui is the sole recipient of the title of ‘Winner of the International Senbatsu General Election’. Now, as the new 48 group KPL48 makes its debut, they are fortunate enough to receive the support of Jurina, who will assist the management with advice and cooperation at their request.

The Management wishes for Jurina to share a wide range of thoughts and opinions by leading KLP members by example, and they are also eager for her to share the stage with the group as an artist, a request she is happy to oblige.

Jurina looks forward to lead the group members in Malaysia, who are giving their all to this new challenge, to become the top idol group in the world.

Ever since Jurina became the youngest ever person to be chosen as part of a senbatsu in 2008 at the age of ’11 years and 228 days’, she has continued to play a central role at the heart of the AKB48 group. Leveraging on the wealth of experience that she has gained up until her graduation from the group in 2021, she can be expected to share great insights with KLP48 members.
