It looks like Joyce Cheng is slowly returning to work, as she was revealed to be the voice for the Cantonese dub for Disney’s new animated feature, “Wish”.
As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who has been on hiatus for months now as she recuperates from what the media reported to be “from emotional distress and depression”, recently appeared in a promotional video with Dee Ho, where she introduced herself as the voice actress for the character Asha.
The two of them also shared their own wishes in the promotional video, to which Dee emotionally said, “I want Joyce to be happy and do what she wants. I know there are many reasons for whether she is happy or not, but we must be stronger and work hard together.”
After hearing this, Joyce was greatly moved and went to hug Dee. She then said that working with Dee has always been a pleasure.
Talking about the protagonist’s power of making wishes come true, Joyce said that her first wish in life was to go to a theme park with her whole family, and that it came true when her late mother Lydia Shum took her to one the same year.
“I believe that sometimes making wishes is a kind of motivation or goal, and I hope Dee can teach me how to be more humorous and funnier,” she added.
