It looks like Southeast Asian fans who dream of watching shows like “The Mandalorian” and “High School Musical: The Musical The Series” will soon be able to watch it from the comfort of their own homes.
After it began operating in some Asian regions like Indonesia and India, it was revealed that Disney+ is set to land in more Asian countries in the coming months – including Singapore and Malaysia.
The news was recently hinted at by a newly verified Instagram account of Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia on 23 January, which uploaded a photo that bore the word, “LOADING…”

It is noted that the said post is identical to the one used by Disney+ Singapore’s Twitter page in December last year, just three days before the service revealed its official launch date on 11 December.
It is noted that there also has been some new jobs listed on Disney’s official website for Disney+ in Malaysia, which further fuelled speculations of it coming here.
For those not familiar with the Hotstar, it was originally an Indian on-demand streaming platform that had since become part of Disney when it acquired 20th Century Fox.
