With its lead actor being under investigation for drug abuse, it looks like the upcoming Korean drama, “No Way Out” may be facing setbacks.
Actor Lee Sun-kyun, most known globally as one of the stars of the Oscar-winning film, “Parasite”, was scheduled to begin filming the drama on 21 and 22 October before news of his drug investigation made headlines.
It is noted that the drama has already started its initial shoot, with Lee playing a pivotal role in it.
The series is a suspense thriller revolving around “those who want to kill and those who want to survive”, when a heinous criminal is released and a KRW 20 billion bounty is in the mix.
The actor was set to play the role of a police officer named Bae Jung-shik, with co-stars that include Yoo Jae-myung, Kim Mu-yeol, and Lee Kwang-soo.
Lee’s agency, HODU&U Entertainment has already released a statement about the drug investigation, saying that they will comply diligently. At the same time, they stated that Lee had been the target of defamation and threats from a particular individual connected to the case.
