Shinobu Mogi recently announced that she will be graduating from AKB48.
The news came at the performance held at the AKB48 Theatre in Akihabara, Tokyo on 15 August, with the singer saying that she will be leaving the group in January next year.
Said Shinobu, “I, Shinobu Motegi, will graduate from AKB48. I joined AKB48 when I was in the first year of junior high school and was able to stand on the starting line in the 4th audition. It was such a dream place to be able to spend a very enjoyable day like this. I am full of gratitude to all the fans, AKB48 members, and everyone I have met so far. Thank you very much!”
The singer also stated that her graduation will be held after the 62nd single handshake event.
“It may seem like a long time, but I think it will go by in a blink of an eye, but I will work to repay everyone for their support. Please support me until the end!” she added.
Shinobu becomes the 25th person to announce graduation this year in AKB48, which has members leaving one after another.
