It was revealed that Song Kang-Ho’s movie studio Anthology Studios will be adapting the hit Indian movie, “Drishyam”.

The studio, which is also co-owned by former Warner Bros. executive Jay Choi and “Cobweb” director Kim Jee-Woon, will be producing the remake alongside Panorama Studios, the latter which produced the Hindi movie.

It is noted that the Hindi movie itself was a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film of the same name.

Anthology stated that they plan to remake all films in the Drishyam franchise, with production on the first instalment expected to start next year.

Choi stated, “We are thrilled to have an opportunity to remake a massively successful Hindi film with a touch of originality from Korean cinema. And the remake has greater significance as the first major co-production between Korea and India. Through our partnership, we will be able to bring the best of both Indian and Korean cinema and make a meaningful remake that is as excellent as the original.”

The Hindi version starred Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, a man who would do anything to protect his family following the disappearance of a police officer’s son.
