Is it much a surprise? Michelle Dee has recently been named Miss Universe Philippines at the recently held pageant.
Michelle, who previously represented the Philippines at the Miss World 2019 pageant and is daughter to Miss International 1979, Melanie Marquez, bested other contenders to win the coveted title at the event held on 13 May at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Aside from winning the title, the model and beauty queen also won Best in Evening Gown.
During the Q&A segment, she was asked the question about the best thing the Philippines could offer to the rest of the world, Michelle stated, “I firmly believe that the best natural resource that the Philippines has is us Filipinos. We are the true heart and soul of the Philippines, with the way we are hospitable, with the warm smiles, and we are the reason why the world keeps coming back for more.”
“No matter where the universe takes me, I will always be proud to call the Philippines my home and no matter what happens, I will always be proud to call myself Pinoy,” she added.
Michelle will be representing the country in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant, to be held in Salvador.
