Ken Miyake recently announced that he will be leaving long-time agency Johnny & Associates.
On 20 February, the former V6 member released a statement via Twitter, saying that his last day with the agency would be 2 May 2023.
“I am very sorry for springing this up on you. I have always been proud of being a Johnny’s idol artist, but after having accumulated a lot of experience as I grow older, I look forward to discovering a new self, and I want to start over to meet various challenges. Thus, the decision was made,” he expressed.
“As a Johnny’s entertainer and as a member of the Johnny’s family, these 30 years have been very important to me. For me, it is an irreplaceable treasure. I am what I am now because of the careful training of the firm and the support of fans. The fans gave me warm encouragement, smiles and support, and I would never forget the first time I received a letter from fans.”
Ken first joined the agency in 1993 at the age of 14, and made his official debut as a member of V6 two years later.
His departure means he is the second V6 member to leave the agency following the group’s disbandment in 2021. The first V6 member to do so was Go Morita.
