Elated over the box office numbers of his sci-fi film, “Warriors of Future”, Louis Koo recently announced that his studio is establishing a 30-year science fiction production plan.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor-producer, who spoke at a special screening in Causeway Bay last week, stated that he and his team have been working step by step for the past ten years to make the movie, and will continue to do so for the next 20 years.
“I hope to take the first step to show everybody that Hong Kong is capable in creating great special effect works. A student taking a related course recently shared that he was worried about having no work after graduation, but thinks that there is a future for him after watching “Warriors of Future.” This industry will continue to need talents like this,” he said.
Louis disagreed with the notion that the glorious era of Hong Kong films is dead, stating that the most important thing is to get everybody’s support.
For his next sci-fi project, the producer stated that his studio will be working on the animated prequel of “Warriors of Future”, in which they will introduce the wife of his character in the original.
