After previously resigning as the music director for the Tokyo Olympic opening ceremony and taking a hiatus due to past bullying allegations, Keigo Oyamada (aka Cornelius) recently announced that he is making a comeback.

On 25 May, the composer released his statement on Twitter, saying that he will be resuming his activity by performing at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2022 and SONICMANIA.

“Since last summer, I have been reflecting strongly on my past immaturity and constantly thinking about how I should face society from now on,” he wrote.

“In the midst of all this, I have been greatly encouraged by the fans who have sent their voices of support and by the people involved who have continued to support me. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

He also added that he will strive to do his best in his future works.

Back in July 2021, Cornelius released an apology and resigned from the Olympics after it was reported that he used to abuse his classmates, including those with disabilities.
