It’s been two years since she was involved in a scandal with married actor Jackson Lai while filming “Story of Zom-B”, and according to Ashley Chu, she is ready for the incident to be talked about yet again now that the said drama is finally airing.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who sat down for an interview recently, shared, “It was conflicting. On the one hand, I want people to watch the series, but I also don’t want them to repeat the old story. But I still can control it. I am just happy that the drama is finally out after the hard work the team did for the series.”

Asked if she would avoid watching the drama since it would remind her of her past mistake, Ashley said that the past is in the past, and she watches the show to learn from the shortcomings in her performance.

As for her mental journey in the two years since the incident, Ashley said, “If I can make a choice, of course I would rather it never happened, because it has a great impact on my career. But there is no time machine in this world to go back to the past, the only way is to face it.”

“After the incident, I took a year off to power up myself. When you have been in the industry for a long time, you will gradually feel swallowed up. During my hiatus, I was reading books, doing yoga, exercising, and getting along with friends, and I slowly found my old self,” she said.

Ashley also admitted that she had toyed with the idea of changing her career during her lowest point, and is grateful that TVB still gave her a chance to make a comeback.
