Seven years after the success of “Nirvana On Fire”, it was revealed that Chinese heartthrob Hu Ge will be collaborating with the same team again in a new drama.
As reported on Oriental Daily, the actor will be the lead in a modern drama, “Xian Wei Da Yuan”, to be directed by Kong Sheng, and will play the role of a magistrate who leads a group of people in changing the Guangming County in need of restoration and development.
Aside from Hu, the other cast members include Wu Yue, Steven Zhang and Lawrence Wang, with appearances by Wan Qian and Liu Tao.
Hu also confirmed his involvement, reposting the announcement on social media and wrote, “Mei Changsu is about to take office.”
This is in reference to his “Nirvana on Fire” character, a performance that helped boosted his career in 2015.
Aside from the said drama, Hu also stars in Wong Kar Wai’s new series, “Blossoms Shanghai”, which has yet to broadcast.
