Despite people pitting the two against each other, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is not at all in competition with fellow Miss Universe winner, Pia Wurtzbach.
The singer, who spoke to Cosmopolitan recently, stated that the two never had any issues with each other both in their private lives and in their work.
“It would be nice for that kind of perception or conversations to end because we want to celebrate each other and we always celebrate each other, maybe not in the most public of ways, but we’re all communicating and supporting each other. It’s unfortunate that there continues to be a false narrative about us,” she expressed.
As for her thoughts on Pia previously defending herself over allegations that she has attacked Catriona through her team, Catriona stated that she respects the Miss Universe 2015 for speaking up, though saddened by the fact that she had to do that in the first place.
“It’s not even something that should be perpetuated within the community or amongst empowered and successful women. Because all the queens that the Philippines has ever created are being celebrated and are experiencing successes in their own right. We should continue celebrating that instead of finding reasons to put them down and pit them against each other,” she added.
