After quite a long hiatus from the public eye, fans couldn’t help but feel shocked upon seeing Tomohisa Yamashita when he appeared at an event recently.
On 4 April, the actor, who attended a fashion event, attracted attention with his quite reduced frame, with his cheeks visibly sunken and looking overall haggard in his black suit.
Speaking to the media at the event, Tomohisa revealed that his career has been quite stagnant for the time being.
“Sometimes I’m going forward, sometimes backward. These are the challenges. It’s all that I can do,” he said.
It is noted that Tomohisa left his talent agency Johnny & Associates (from which he had been a part of since he was 11 years old) back in 2020 and said that he made the decision in order to chase after his childhood dreams.
Since then, he starred in the English-language psychological thriller series, “The Head” and signed with Will Smith’s Westbrook Inc.
However, rumour has it that the actor’s career is actually being managed by his family, and that a lot of his jobs were cancelled or declined by his mother, who allegedly supervised the actor’s career.
