Although she lost the TV Queen title to Rosina Lam earlier, it looks like Mandy Wong is getting another opportunity to win a Best Actress accolade, this time for her work on the stage.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress was recently named among the contenders of the Best Actress accolade at the 30th Hong Kong Drama Awards, an awards ceremony recognising the talents in theatre.
She was nominated for her performance in the stage show, “Larger Than Life”.
Expressing her elation over the nomination, Mandy wrote on Instagram, “To me, this nomination is very important and has a special meaning. Thank you to the judges, thank you to all the good friends in front of and behind the scenes of “Larger Than Life” stage play. I missed the days of crazy rehearsals with you.”
“I hope Chloe the robot will have the opportunity to meet the audience again in the theatre,” she added.
Fans and friends including Paisley Hu, Nancy Wu, Selena Lee and Elaine Yiu took to the comments to congratulate Mandy, with Elaine writing, “Congrats Chloe.”
Mandy was previously nominated Best Actress for her role in “The Line Watchers” at the TVB Anniversary Awards. According to TVB General Manager Eric Tsang, the actress was a favourite of his to win the accolade and had the second most votes, though she eventually lost to Rosina Lam, who won for her role in “Battle of the Seven Sisters”.
