Chor Yuen, a renowned Hong Kong actor-director, has recently passed away.
As reported on Mingpao, the news was confirmed by the spokesman for the Hong Kong Film Workers Federation, saying that the filmmaker passed away on the afternoon of 21 February.
“His family was by his side. He felt a little uncomfortable in the morning, so his wife called the ambulance to take him to the hospital. He died two hours later,” the spokesperson said.
Born as Cheung Po Kin in 1934 to famous classic Cantonese actor Cheung Wood Yau, Chor has acted, starred, and wrote multiple movies and TV series.
Among his most famous projects include “Mad, Mad 83” (1983), “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Father” (1993), TVB’s “Armed Reaction” (1998) and “A Step into the Past” (2001).
He is survived by his actress wife Nam Hung and his son. He was 87.
