Louis Koo is elated that his animated feature, “The Mitchells vs. the Machines” has been nominated at this year’s Oscars.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor-producer, who has produced a huge number of movies throughout the years, is one of the executive producers of the said animated movie, which has been nominated in the Best Animated Feature Film at this year’s Academy Awards.

“I am glad and honoured,” said the actor when asked about it. “I hope that this animated movie will bring positive energy that all families need. Most importantly, I hope it will remind everyone to cherish the time spent with their family.”

“The Mitchells vs. the Machines” follows the dysfunctional Mitchell family that find themselves having to save Earth from a global robot uprising during a road trip. Among the stars who lent their voices to the characters include Danny McBride, Abbi Jacobson, Maya Rudolph, Olivia Colman, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

It will be facing tough competition from the likes of Disney’s “Encanto” and “Raya and the Last Dragon”, Pixar’s “Luca”, and Denmark’s “Flee”.
