Yeo Yann Yann is set to make her Disney debut in the upcoming Disney+ series, “American Born Chinese”, to be helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” fame.
The Johor Bahru-born actress, whose credits include award-winning movies like “Ilo Ilo” and “Wet Season”, will be playing the role of mother to Ben Wang’s character Jin Wang – a boy who gets stuck in the middle of an epic battle between Chinese mythological gods.
She is joined by fellow Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh, Hong Kong star Daniel Wu, and “Mortal Kombat” actor Chin Han among others.
Sharing the good news about the project, Yeo took to Instagram and expressed, “Am excited on the 8th day of new year. Can’t wait to meet the amazing team.”
Yeo, who was last seen in “Wet Season”, is also set to appear in the upcoming British-American action thriller, “Havoc”.
