Rarely seen in public since the controversy surrounding son Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan was recently spotted surrounded by many as he bid his farewell to singer Lata Mangeshkar.
The actor, who was one of the many celebrities who attended the singer’s funeral on 6 February, was photographed attending the ceremony in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park alongside other stars like Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan.
Aside from giving her his last respects, Shah Rukh who arrived at the ceremony with his manager, was also seen holding his hands up in dua (prayer).
His gesture was widely praised by fans, with one netizen writing, “He decided to go there and pay her the last tribute instead of posting anything on social media. King for a reason.”
“SRK: Epitome of class and the [humblest] human. Respect,” said another.
Lata was laid to rest following news of her passing with full state honours, with her funeral pyre lit by her brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar. Her sisters Asha Bhosle and Usha Mangeshkar were also seen at the funeral.
Shah Rukh has been keeping away from the limelight since son Aryan was arrested last year for alleged drug use. The latter had since been released on bail.
