Would you like to rest your buns on buns? Because Estonian rapper Tommy Cash (stylised TOMM¥ €A$H) recently has that particular idea and is trying to get IKEA on board!
The Estonian rapper recently shared a couple of photos on Instagram of him lounging on a sofa that resembles delicious looking buns, and told fans, “So IKEA told me if we get 10,000 comments under this post, they will release the ‘Loafa!’ Let’s show them that we need this for real.”
According to Hypebeast, the said dough sofa is designed by Canadian artist Gab Bois, inspired by Mario Bellini’s Camaleonda sofa, which the latter designed back in the 1970s.
The post had since attracted hundreds of thousands of fans, which has prompted the entertainer to share another photo of him with the sofa, writing, “LOAFA is coming to your nearest IKEA söön!”
However, according to IKEA’s global press officer Diana Lavrenova, there has been no collaboration between them and the said rapper.
“No one from IKEA was in touch with Tommy Cash. We don’t see the project as feasible,” she said, adding that the company’s attempt to make a blow-up sofa in the ‘80s – similar to the one shared by Tommy – turned out to be the greatest mistake made by them.
This is not the first time that the rapper came up with a peculiar product. Last year, Cash launched the “World’s Longest Superstar” shoe with Adidas Originals, a pair of Maison Margiela loafers (that looks like a loaf of bread, that is), and released an NFT of a bread-like jacket.
The guy surely loves bread.
