Just like in the aftermath of any natural disaster, there will always be those who decided that it is a good idea to donate clothes they no longer want to wear to victims of the catastrophe.
Which irked Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez so much that she took to social media to express her frustration.
In a couple of Instagram posts, the beauty queen reposted photos from entrepreneur Ruan Mac of dirty clothes received as donations following their donation drive, in which the latter wrote, “Just because they don’t have anything right now, doesn’t mean they deserve trash from others. Sorry, but some donated clothes were dirty and full of holes. If there are holes in your clothes, do not donate them.”
She added, “Don’t donate clothes you won’t even wear.”
In another post, Katarina reminded people not to donate dirty underwear, adding that people should not send clothes that are not wearable.
Katarina is one of the many celebrities who have been helping with the victims of Typhoon Odette (Rai), which hit several provinces including Leyte, Surigao, Bohol and Cebu. The beauty queen has been living in Siargao since 2020.
