Miss Universe PH is urging her fellow countrymen and the world alike to help her fellow Cebuanos and Pinoys, following the recent Typhoon Odette (Typhoon Rai)’s trail of destruction.
On 17 December, the beauty queen took to social media to express her sadness over the tragedy that has left 100 dead in the country, writing, “I was on FaceTime with my sister and mama when the storm was just about to hit. It only took minutes from a happy conversation to shift into a ghastly phone call as I heard them struggle the entire night.”
“My family is now safe thank you to Sir [Jessie Perez] for staying up with me to contact my family and making sure that they’re safe as the storm was passing.”
Beatrice stated that her heart bleeds for Cebu, seeing that such a tragedy occurred just a few days before Christmas, adding that her family home is just one of the many devastated by one of the strongest typhoons that hit Cebu and the surrounding provinces.
“I am now knocking on your hearts to help me in partnership with Simply Share Foundation and the Naval Reserve Center of Eastern Visayas to respond to this calamity and bring back hope and light to my fellow Sugboanons. Your simple act of kindness means a lot.”
