Chrissie Chau is elated to find out that she has been nominated Best Actress at the upcoming 13th Macau International Film Festival.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who is nominated for her performance in “Madalena”, told the media at a Christmas event that the nomination is considered the best Christmas gift for her.

“But I have to work and might not be able to personally attend the awards ceremony in Macau,” she said.

When mentioned that she will be competing with the likes of other great actresses including award-winning star, Zhou Xun, Chrissie said that she has confidence in herself.

“This confidence came from the team and my co-stars. I have given my best,” she added.

On the other hand, Chrissie said that she has two new series that will start production soon, which means that she may have to work on Christmas itself.

Directed by Emily Chan, “Madalena” stars Louis Cheung and Chrissie Chau as Mada and Lena, two traumatised people finding solace in each other’s company.
