Sammo Hung is set to make his movie comeback through the new Louis Koo film, “Kowloon Walled City”.
The actor, who attended the launching ceremony alongside his co-stars including Richie Jen, Raymond Lam, Terrance Lau, and Louis himself, stated that he will have a few action scenes in the movie, but that he will let the most to be done by younger co-stars.
When mentioned that he is still using a cane following his previous leg injury, Sammo said jokingly, “Working on an action scene would be a little tougher, but chatting with everybody is also tougher for me.”
As to the fact that the film will not finish filming until after the Lunar New Year and that he may not be able to meet friends frequently, the actor stated that he hasn’t seen his friends a lot since the pandemic anyway.
“When people are old, they catch the virus easily, so I try to avoid meeting friends too much. We still check up on each other through text messages though,” he added.
Based on the comic, “City of Darkness”, “Kowloon Walled City” is described as an action thriller set in the 70s as the Hong Kong Police Force and a team of elite forces battle crime and corruption in the self-governed walled city. The movie will be helmed by Cheang Pou Soi of “The Monkey King” fame.
