While she is elated to be able to do a lot of action scenes for her new series, “M Mission”, Sonia Sui recently revealed that she actually needed months of rehab because of the drama.
As reported on Epoch Times, the actress, who appeared at the promotional event alongside the cast of “M Mission”, revealed that she plays a retired female spy in the drama, who uses her specialty to track her husband (played by Sunny Wang).
Sonia said that since she had a lot more action scenes in the drama, she went to train for several months before filming started.
“But during filming, sometimes I couldn’t control my strength, and coupled with the character’s emotions, I found myself getting hurt easily,” she said.
This includes a scene with George Hu, where she accidentally hit the corner of her right eyebrow with a pair of handcuffs, causing it to bleed.
In another instant, Sonia said that the protective gear she was wearing in a scene was inconvenient to put on and take off, which made her decide not to drink water so not to have to take off the protective gear for bathroom needs.
As a result, Sonia said, at the end of the day, she experienced numbness in the entire right half of her body, which resulted in her needing rehabilitation for more than three months.
