Robbie Williams is calling for the creation of a support group that can help young stars struggling with fame.

The singer, who himself started his career at a young age of 16 with the pop group Take That, shared his opinion in the wake of the death of One Direction member Liam Payne in October.

“If you are following the story closely, we are beginning to understand, maybe on a subconscious level more than conscious level, that fame isn’t a fix-all. Some are lucky to get through to the other end but a lot don’t,” he said.

Admitting he himself had his own struggles with fame during his teenage years and early 20s and confessed to have suffered from agoraphobia, Robbie said that he hopes that there should be a “think tank of empathetic and compassionate creatives” that could come together to protect these young entertainers.

‘I would hope that something is done in Liam’s name to protect people, whatever that means,” he added.
