Zanilia Zhao is adding another accolade to her award’s shelf, it seems, as she was announced Best Actress at the recently held Golden Eagle Awards.
The actress bested contenders like Zhou Xun (“Imperfect Victim”) and Tiffany Tang (“Blossoms Shanghai”) to win the coveted trophy for her performance in the drama, “Wild Bloom”.
She later shared a photo of herself with her new honour on Weibo, and wrote, “Thank you for your recognition, your love, and your expectation… I am grateful that on the day when ‘Wild Bloom’ started filming, Xu Banxia lived up to everyone’s expectations. Thank you for all the blessings, and also to the future Golden Eagle Award for Best Actress.”
During the presentation of the accolade, a video was played on the screen, with Zanilia revealing her thoughts about her career, saying, “For the first seven years, I played supporting roles. My round face prevented me from playing the leading role. My image was limited and seemed small. I was very unconvinced at the time, and secretly swore in my heart that if I had the opportunity, I would desperately grab it.”
