ANGERME member Yuki Hirayama recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with the rare disease called Behcet’s disease.
The news was shared by the singer on her blog on 25 October, saying that she will continue to be active while undergoing treatment, and may have to temporarily adjust her schedule due to her physical condition.
“Now that I know what disease I have and can receive treatment, I feel at ease. Although the disease may affect my activities, I still firmly want to continue to be an idol and will not give up this passion. I am living with the disease and trying to enjoy every moment. I hope everyone can continue to give me support and warmth,” she expressed.
Meanwhile, “Hello! Project”, of which Yuki and ANGERME are a part of, stated that they will continue to work together with her as much as possible after discussing her treatment and condition with medical professionals.
“We sincerely apologise to our fans and all concerned parties for the concern and inconvenience we have caused. We appreciate your continued support,” they added.
According to Mayo Clinic, Behcet’s disease, also called Behcet’s syndrome, is a rare disorder that causes blood vessel inflammation throughout the body, causing symptoms like mouth or genital sores, skin and joint pain, and inflammation in the eyes.
