American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has now surpassed Rihanna to be the richest female musician in the world.
Taylor, who has been busy flying around the world for her Eras Tour, is estimated to be worth USD 1.6 billion with half of her wealth coming from concert sales and royalties, and the rest from her music catalogue.
In addition, the singer also earned USD 125 million of the 1.6 billion from real estate investments.
It is noted that Taylor made a genius decision in 2019 to re-release her albums in an effort to owning her masters and get total control of her work.
She had since re-released four of her earlier albums: “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” “Red (Taylor’s Version),” “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”, enabling her to get back on the charts.
At the same time, the “Antihero” singer also released a new album back in April, titled “The Tortured Poets Department”, which stayed in the top spot in music charts over 14 nonconsecutive weeks.
Prior to Swift, it was Rihanna who held the record, having a net worth of USD 1.4 billion through her music and her makeup line, Fenty Beauty.
