Nidji’s vocalist Giring is truly living his song lyrics, “Dreams are a key to us dominating the world”, as it was revealed that he has been appointed the Deputy Minister of Culture in the new Merah Putih Cabinet.
The former vocalist of the popular band Nidji, real name Giring Ganesha Djumaryo, 41, will be serving in said position alongside Gerindra’s Fadli Zon, who was appointed Minister of Culture.
Giring, known for songs like “Laskar Pelangi”, “Teroesir” and “Sumpah dan Cinta Matiku”, transitioned from music to politics back in 2017, joining the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) and serving as the party’s general chairman.
He is also known for being a supporter of former President Joko Widodo and Governor Ahok.
