Fred Cheng is happy to reveal that his son Asher’s condition is getting much better now, following his previous Angelman Syndrome diagnosis.

The singer, who spoke to the media at a fundraising event recently, shared that his two-year-old boy has begun to crawl and can stand up holding objects now, which is a miracle to him and wife Stephanie Ho.

“Seeing that my son has made progress, he is no longer as desperate as he was at the beginning. I have confidence in him that he will get better and better. Now I will let go occasionally and let my son try to solve problems his own way,” he said.

Fred also said that he and Stephanie will be flying to the United States with their son soon to attend a lecture on Angelman Syndrome, exchange some medical information and hand over a donation. After that, they will fly to Canada to visit relatives and stay there for more than a month.

“I have prepared a lot of things for Asher for the long flight, including toys and his favourite music and videos,” he added.

Angelman syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that affects the nervous systems and cause severe physical and learning disabilities.
