Cheryl Yang couldn’t help but teared up after she was announced Best Supporting Actress at the recently held Golden Bell Awards.
The actress, who had been nominated seven times in the past but never won, said that she decided not to prepare an acceptance speech this time after being nominated for “Oh No! Here Comes Trouble”, thinking that she would not win yet again.
“Every time I was nominated, I hoped to be the one, but I was disappointed so many times that when I heard my own name, it really felt unreal,” she said.
Thanking her family and friends for their undying support, Cheryl expressed, “Every time I didn’t win an award, what I hated most was seeing the disappointed eyes of my relatives and friends. They wanted to comfort me, but they didn’t know how to comfort me. This time, they finally don’t have to.”
The actress said that her only motivation that supported her throughout the years was due to her love of the craft.
“I just like acting. Purely and simply,” she added.
