Yu Yuhan has finally broken his silence over his withdrawal from T.O.P two days after the group’s debut.

On 4 September, the singer, who volunteered to leave the group after a series of lewd messages he reportedly made about IVE’s Wonyoung went viral, took to Weibo to address the issue.

He said, “Hello everyone, I am Yu Yuhan. A few days ago, there were a lot of discussions about my personal chat records. Today, accompanied by my family, I went to the public security agency to lodge a complaint and completed the reporting procedure. Now I can finally give you an account of the whole thing.”

Yu stated that he had noticed that something was amiss with his account since February, and that some of the words used in the chat records seemed to be something that he wouldn’t use.

“Sometimes when chatting with friends, I always wondered when I shared this video and why I didn’t remember it. Because this situation was not very obvious, I thought it was a system bug or I forgot it, and I didn’t pay much attention to it. A similar situation occurred again in early March. I checked the login device and found that in addition to myself, there were actually three people logged into my account at the same time! I was shocked and quickly cancelled my account,” he continued.

Aside from defending himself, Yu also apologised to his company, Times Fengjun, members of T.O.P as well as to everybody involved.

“I did say some things that I shouldn’t have said, and I hurt many people. I regret it very much. But some of the words were not said by me. I believe that the public security agency will come to a fair conclusion after investigation. I sincerely apologise to everyone,” he added.
