Sandra Lim has been crowned the new Miss Universe Malaysia, as she triumphed over 15 other finalists to win the title during the Gala Night at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 6 September 2024.
Hosted by renowned TV personalities Amelia Henderson and Hansen Lee with performances by the talented singer-songwriter Firdhaus Farmizi and the girl group DOLLA, the event saw Sandra Lim claiming the crown as the winner of Miss Universe Malaysia 2024, with Gianna Tan securing the 1st runner-up title and Tamara Inigo, earning the title of 2nd runner-up.
Sandra Lim from Selangor is a versatile actress, model, and host with roles in popular movie films. A fitness enthusiast, she practises Wushu, kickboxing, stunt work, and plays musical instruments like the Gu Zheng. Sandra is also dedicated to social work, particularly in supporting education for underprivileged children. She was inspired by Miss Universe Malaysia 2020, Francisca Luhong James, and her experience as Miss Global 2022 first runner-up to pursue the title of Miss Universe Malaysia 2024.
“I look forward to continuing my work in helping more communities as the new Miss Universe Malaysia. I think this is a very important platform. It can be very empowering and strong if we use it correctly to empower other communities. I would love to meet more people soon around Malaysia, and hope to make a positive difference in our society,” stated Sandra.
The judging panel, who played a crucial role in selecting the winners, included the Chairlady of the Miss Universe Malaysia Organization, Datin Wira Livonia Ricky Guing; Fizi Woo, Co-founder of FIZIWOO; Pageant Expert and Coach, Marlene Lim; CEO of J & KEL’L Creation, Mandy Ong; Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 winner, Jane Teoh; Actress, Producer and Entrepreneur, Kavita Sidhu; and Bintang Collectionz Hotel CMO, Oscar Ong.
Sandra Lim will now represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe competition in Mexico on 16 November, continuing her journey on the global stage.
