Twenty years after his last TVB drama, Nick Cheung revealed that he is returning to the small screen with a mainland drama, “Blood of the Ruthless Dog” (translated title).
Sharing the news at the promotional event of his new movie, “Go For Broke”, the actor-director said that he will begin filming the drama in the mainland and Macau soon.
As to why he decided to say yes to the project, Nick said it was because the story was written and will be directed by Au Koon Ying and So Man Chung, the former TVB scriptwriters.
“The original story is from a foreign country, and many other countries have bought the copyright to adapt it. I thought that if I do this series, it would be something fresh. I would be challenging myself, and feeling like passing on the torch,” he said.
The 20-episode drama will also star Myolie Wu, said Nick, though not as his love interest.
“My character in the drama makes a mistake for the sake of the family and finally corrects it. Myolie plays my work partner,” he added.
