Zhang Haowei’s camp has recently responded to allegations made against the actor, after several recordings allegedly made by him went viral on social media.

The issue sparked on 19 August, after a viral voice recording allegedly of the actor surfaced online, with him supposedly discussing going into the business of “hiring ladies”, which many interpreted to be prostitution.

The said recording came following earlier rumours that he was committing tax evasion.

On 20 August, Zhang’s studio released a statement denying all allegations, saying that they have always adhered to the tax system and have never evaded paying the tax. The company also shared a screenshot of the tax payment certificate.

As for the recordings, the company said that they have already reported it to the police a week ago and are currently awaiting the result of investigation.

Zhang had since forwarded the response and write, “The innocent will be cleared.”
