After seven months of filming, Yang Zi and Li Xian have finally wrapped up filming their new historical drama, “Flourished Peonies”.
The two stars, who previously worked together in “Go Go Squid!”, were recently seen at the wrap-up party along with the cast and crew including director Ding Ziguang and screenwriter Zhang Yuanang as they celebrated the completion.
The drama is adapted from the novel of Yi Qianzhong, “Guo Se Fang Hua”, and tells the story of He Weifang (Yang Zi), the daughter of a merchant in the Tang Dynasty with skills in cultivating rare peonies.
She also began to collaborate with officer Jiang Changyang (Li Xian) as they develop her business.
The story focuses on the awakening of individuals under the constraints of the times. Although the heroine He Weifang divorced and moved out, she made a living with her independent and tenacious character and unique flower-growing skills, leading a group of women with unfortunate fates to run a flower shop and change their fates. The hero Jiang Changyang seems to be cynical and bears a bad reputation, but in fact he is smart but clumsy and cares about the world.
It is set to be broadcast simultaneously on Hunan Satellite TV and Mango TV.
